As mentioned in post #24, figuring out your exact miles is paramount. My stock tires, 255/60-16 were 29 inches diameter...whereas...my 265/75-16'S are 31.5 inches in diameter.
My odometer is off about 10.5 miles pre 100. So, when I say it had 285 miles last check...the odometer actually said l'd gone 260 on my 01. Math is necessary.
I've been afraid to actually check the mpg on my wife's 03 (04 engine). Although it has no codes and runs smoothly...it is God awful on fuel mileage. Stock tires and suspension, but for whatever reason...she only gets about 200 miles out of a tank (maybe). Luckily, she only puts about 3000 miles a year.

I'm running on 50% worn 255 50 R19 Continental top range road tires, they are equivalent to stock tires in overall diameter, 255 55 R18. My next set of tires will be either Falken Azenis FK510 or Atturo AZ 850, both types have great wet grip.

The gas gods must like me this tank...288.6 (odometer) + 28 (odometer discrepancy/larger tires) = 316.6 miles ÷ 20.5 gals of fuel = 15.44 mpg.
Only differences over last tank...changed idler pulley/belt after failure, welded exhaust y-pipe at manifold and dropped out 15W40 after overheating and added 10W30 (bought cheap oil incase engine was toast after overheating, will change soon). I believe it was running a little rich because of the exhaust leak, black ring around end of tailpipe.
Been getting 14.2 reliably forever...so, l have to see these results again before I start the year long celebration and buy a round for the house!
