2000 DII w/.112K, but has a 2004 4.6L V8 w/. 35K miles in it. The previous owner's wife (yeah right...) overheated the engine so he replaced it with a newer one. Just bought it 4 weeks ago and aside from little thingsI fixed (CC vacuum hose, fuel door clip, wiper arm plastic piece) no problems yet. I do need to get the transmission serviced and am contemplating seafoam.

Disco Fuego, was it hard to swap the 4.6? Did you have to use the 4.6 computer? I am up to 154,000 miles and still running strong in my 2000 D2. Car payments suck so I am going to drive this thing for as long as I can.

I didn't do the work. The previous owner had it done by a shop specializing in LR and Jags. I would assume they replaced the ECU as well, but i couldn't tell you for sure. You made me curious though... How would I be able to tell the difference?
