I am having white smoke from my tailpipe when I idle it lessens when I drive but it is still there. Also my oil smells like gasoline. Any thoughts. I hope not rebuild or new engine.[:@]

 

What does the smoke smell like?

How's your compression?

You may have washed out your wiper ring - if your compression is good you didn't hurt the other rings.

Or it could be valve guide seals.

 

Are you low or have you been having to add coolant? If it is not typical condinsation that can show up in the morning then it is possible you have lost your head gaskets.What year is your truck, how many miles on it?

It is a 98 Disco 1 with 100,540miles. The smoke soedn't smell sweet like antifreeze issues it smell a bit like gasoline. As I said the oil also smells like gasoline.

 

Rover oil smell like gas after 1500 miles, so I wouldn't worry about it.
How about the coolant questions I asked before?

The coolant levels are good. They seem to be normal.
