Someone is phishing for info. The site they direct you to will likely ask you for personal details. Since many people use the same account and login information for all of their online activity, the fraudsters try to gather info from "non money" related accounts knowing that they can likely use the same info to log onto your "money" accounts as well.

You were smart not to do their "free scan". ALWAYS continue to ignore such solicitations. Glad you didn't get scammed!

Security Tool 2010 is a virus. DO NOT CLICK THE LINK. I work part time for an IT Department and have been removing/attempting to remove these viruses for years. More information is on this wikipedia link http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rogue_security_software

If you keep getting random popups on your PC that ask you to purchase Security Tool 2010, you need to go to "malwarebytes.org" and download the free version to remove the virus. I know this is a Rover forum and all...but these viruses can eventually make your PC unusable (no programs will load).

I have been banning these 2 and they still get back. I will be in touch with the office Tuesday morning to have them deal with this.
