Anyone else have this issue? All the weather stripping looks to be in good shape, but it is winter hear and there is a lot of cold air flowing into the wife's front seat from the rear window behind her. Anyone else have this issue and what is the right fix?

 

check window stripping. they like to fall down the window track. Pull up with pliers and reglue.

The felt in the window frame channel can get pulled down. That's what whowa004 is calling out.

Roll the noisy window down.
Check the felt inside of the frame, it could be pulled down leaving a gap towards the top of the frame.
Use something pointy to pull the felt back up.
Tack it into place.

I had this happen on my D2, took me a while to figure out.

 

window track is like a felt u channel and that likes to slip down. if that makes sense, didn't describe it very well first go around.

 

Window felt is good and solid. Took it out for another spin and the air is coming in from the top of the door frame. clearly the door is not sealing at the top now. Wondering if I need a new top weather strip ot just add a new rubber/felt piece to the door to help close the gap...

 

Yeah, I was going to suggest checking the door weatherstripping, also look to see if the door itself is tweaked.

 

The window frame itself can be adjusted. Loosen all the bolts on the sides of the door. There is one under the curve. Think its a T30 or T40. You can pull the frame a little towards the truck and that may seal it up. It doesn't take much once you loosen all those bolts. I just had the pleasure of sealing up a air leak after changing a lock actuator which requires you to take out the window frame.

 

Oddly enough, the metal window frames on these Disco's are adjustable to mate up properly with the body weatherstripping. In fact, they are completely removable, and need to be removed with the window when repairing a door lock/actuator. You just remove the inner door panel and plastic vapor barrier, then it is pretty easy to see where the window frame bolts are, and how to make adjustments to the window frames so things mate up flush when the door is closed. It's almost self explanatory when ya see it, but if a lil guidance would be helpful, a quick Google search will give ya multiple YouTube videos to show ya how to do it all, which will probably be easier to understand than reading about it. It's not a hard job, just an odd one as most cars do not have removable window frames, so folks don't realize they can be adjusted.
