I'll try searching here too but I've never had great success with search function here, it finds too much.
Maybe. I think most of the old ones are broken.

Just a quick follow-up on my post (previous page). The windows refused to mess up in my video, but the problem came back. Now it hangs again each time I lower it unless I put a little pressure on the window with my hand.

I just decided to bite the bullet and get a new regulator. Partsgeek has them (you have to transplant your motor and the window guide--nuts and a screw--for 24 dollars. Allmakes brand. Replacing it will be less trouble than I went to in order to try out the washers. I do like those clip on rollers linked above, but it occurred to me that getting my GOOD roller off, with my luck, will damage something... and the new regulator is so cheap. If I can find this thread in a week or so when it arrives I'll video the motor/glide swap and install.

Best,

Charlie V

Default allmakes replacement

Well scratch the week deal. It arrived today and took about 30 mins to put on. I made some quick videos if anyone is interested. I needed a packet knife, a phillips screwdriver, a 10mm socket with short extension, something to pry with, a t27 star bit, and some grease. I'm not a mechanic so please keep that in mind.

Just skip to the last two videos for the idea. Youtube has failed on the first two three times each; I give up.

What came in the box and how to get the door panel off:

How to remove the regulator (I keep calling it register. Oh well, no second takes):

Putting the good stuff on the new regulator:

Final thoughts and tips:

Thanks as always Charlie. I may go this route too.

Yesterday my car had trouble starting, first time ever, so now I'm trying to figure out if I need a new battery or I have to install a crank sensor. Ugh.

When it rains, it pours!

Wow! You are on a roll of bad luck, so you are due for some good! Dang! Let me know if I can help.

I've been through a couple of periods when my Disco just wouldn't seem to behave... but they sort out.
