Default wiper blade ?

on my disco 2 the wiper arm. is the arm were the hole is made of aluminum ? and the other is the splines part made of steel? you know were the arm fits in the spline. if that is so couldn't i just fabricate something that will fit inside the arm hole that is now smooth? i was thinking about a plastic valve stem cover cut on one end and then cut it the long way so i can heat it up flip it inside out and use some kind of glue and stick in the arm hole that is already smooth and then set it in the splined end and tighten it down.this way if this works and wipers get turned on when they are frozen to the windshield it wont mess up the transmission.i am going to try this i think it will work.

That might work.
You might want to consider looking at junk yards for newused wiper arms.
