Default Wiper Delay

I know there was a forum about this a while ago, and I did read about it just now, but I wanted to know if getting a new stalk was the only solution. Trust me, I'm not trying to re-start an old thread or anything, but I really don't want to spend any money if there is any other solution.

On another note, I love my new Rover, absolutely love it. Its due for an oil change and I'm going to do it this weekend.. any thoughts on good oil to use.. I was thinking a synthetic blend.. I use full synthetic in my Porsche, but don't think I'm going to go that route in the Rover.. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated as always.

Thanks a ton fellas.

Best regards....

Can't figure out what your question is? a new stalk for what?

Blend is fine. Reglar Dino is fine, just keep the intervals regular and not over 5K. I run full in every part, but I am a distributor and get good prices.

Thanks for the reply. I am asking about the stalk for the windshield wipers. The previous thread i read said that way to correct the issue was to buy a new stalk (the thing that turns them on and off). It only happens when its cold outside. I live in south TX so its not that big of a deal, its cold maybe 3 or 4 days a year, lol!

As for the oil, I don't mind running fully synthetic as long as it wont mess anything up, should I run a blend first time around and then go into fully synthetic?

What are your thoughts?

Thanks man!

It's much cheaper to embrace the delay as a lovable idiosyncrasy of your new Rover. Look at it as a study in patience. I have the same issue with my 03 here in CO.

I believe the best synthetic blend is Castrol.
As for the stack, are you referring to the wiper switch, if so, that is normally the problem. The only issue we have with the wiper motor is it's stopping at different spots on the wind shield instead of parking where it belongs.

If you want to run full syn then just do it.
Why would that mess anything up?
All engine oils are compatible with each other.
