Which years got oil coolers?
99-02 should all have an oil cooler. 03-04's don't. Remove upper fan shroud and look down you should have 2 coolers stacked on top of each other. One for the transmission and one for the engine oil.
Well I was convinced that I didn't have an oil cooler, but I removed the upper fan shroud and there it was. I've had the shroud off before, but never thought of looking for it. Thanks for showing me where it was.
I had a customer who has an '02. Don't know where it falls in production during the model year but he most definitely did not have an oil cooler. He was a mechanic who works on exotic European cars and bought the truck for his daughter. We spoke just the other day about an oil leak around the front cover and when I looked at the cover the hole that would normally accommodate the oil cooler line was blocked off just as it is on the '03/'04 models.
I don't know if they stopped installing the coolers towards the end of the model year or what but everything looked like it came that way from the factory.
