Yellow Service Engine Soon light

Yellow Service Engine Soon light
is on, and I think I know why.
Some knothead (me) left the gas cap off when he filled up last night, and it stayed off until this morning. I drove from the gas station to my house (about 1/2 mile) and to the gym and back (about 2 miles) before I found it. So much for my powers of observarion. The gas cap has been back on for the 25-30 miles that I have driven since, and the light won't shut off.
Question is, is there a way to clear the fault without taking it to the dealer? I just picked it up from them yesterday, $2,200 for a new drive belt, window regulator, and intake gaskets so I'm still a little shocked by that experience and don't want to go back quite yet.
The truck is a 2003 Disco SE.
Thanks for any advice,

RE: Yellow Service Engine Soon light
Run by your local Autozone and have them read the code. If it is related to the gas cap, they may even clear it for you. If not, it will go out on it's own after a few drive cycles. I would have the code read to make sure that is what it is before you wait for it to go off.... You shouldn't drive muchwith that light on, and never with it flashing....

RE: Yellow Service Engine Soon light
the light will turn off after it runs the evap test and passes twice, if that is the fault... it needs to be driven, get fully hot, and then be shut off for at least 5 hours to run the test, give it a few days and see if it turns off... or go to the dealer for the window and ask them to clear the code, not diag it, theyll charge you, shouldnt charge you to just clear it, takes them about 30 seconds to do
