Default Yep, another question from me and it's the 3 Amigos.

So I had the 3 amigos since purchasing the Disco. The day after bringing it home, I checked under the hood and a PO tried to do the shuttle valve mod B. He/she used butt connectors and electrical tape, ugh. So I pulled it all apart and soldered/heat shrank all the connections and added a weatherpak connector between the new wiring to the plug and ground. The 3 amigos did not automatically clear on their so I placed an order for the icarsoft scanner. Once the scanner showed up I found it had many codes in the ABS system. All 4 abs sensors said they were out of range plus there was these rough road codes, etc. I cleared all the codes and the 3 amigos cleared. I took it for a drive and the codes came back. This time the only code was for the right front sensor electrical fault. Okay, well I had the spacer lift on order so I was going to be under the truck working anyway so I ordered a new wheel speed sensor from Rockauto. This weekend I replaced the sensor. The connection for the sensor on the harness side is brittle and starting to fall apart but I was able to get it plugged into the sensor. I cleared the codes again and took it for a drive. A few minutes into the drive the amigos returned and now the code says right front sensor low output. I give up. lol Not even the same code. Could it be the harness connector is bad since the plastic is brittle and falling apart? I had taped it up with electrical so it can't move or come undone. Maybe the hub is the issue??

Pic for attention. This is with the lift completed. This is the height they should have been from the factory!

I would start with the connector as you know there is an underlying issue. I had the 3 amigos come up many years after doing option B. I thought it might just be old age of the stuff (2004 SE). I took the advice of a few smart folks here and played with the ground wire. I cleaned up the area where it connects and checked all connections. That seemed to solve my 3 amigos, FWIW.

So I started pulling everything apart again and look at my new abs wheel sensor!!!! I guess the tire rubbed it. I connected the wires back together and moved so they wouldnt rub but im going to get another sensor anyway.

Yay!! No Amigos after a good drive. The speed sensor wire fix cleared those banditos for me! Until next time.

There should be yellow clips on your brake hose that are used to attached the ABS wire loosely to the brake hose so this doesn't happen- a few zip ties will do the trick too
