Default ZF4hp24 pump gasket

also posted in the engine swap forum as I’m in the middle of one, but could use some insight.

How hard is it to remove the pump and replace the gasket behind? I did not have enough pressure on the pump when I first pulled the housing (my fault). I was loosening a bolt and noticed I had lost an ounce or two of transmission fluid. Tightened it back down, re-cut my pipe, and it has not leaked since. I have a lingering concern that it make leak under pressure now if the gasket is indeed compromised. I haven’t been able to find any write ups or pictures of the process. The gasket is cheap and I’m not really intimidated by the job, but I would like to know what I’m getting into. Anything I’ve been able to come across says you can service the gasket and the first gear clutch pack without pulling the transmission? Pics and advice would be appreciated!

Yes, can be done. You will need to review the manuals and steps to do so. Email me and I will send them to you.
