Default 2004 diesel engine/tranny swap project questions... electrical

considering purchasing a 2004 sport with a MB diesel, NV3550, swapped into it. aka...... all mechanical engine and gear stuff.... but it is unfinished..... needs radiator/cooling system and electrical wired up.

so how does that change reality of wiring it all up? Would it be more logical to just rewire the whole damn thing... or could all the former computers etc. be bypassed? Speedo.... likely a gps speedo would be easiest?

how is the axles? similar to dana 44 in strength? weaker? stronger?

just want a daily driver than can do occasional adventure driving/ yet be the last car I ever need to buy*.. NOT knarly rock crawling or mudding..... just camping. Am building a larger (ex military) for long distance overlanding..... so really do not need the disco for that.

*aka... the MB in it is known to last 500,000 miles.... the NV's got good reputation and all three are completely rebuilt.
