2016 discover sport cooling fan won’t shut off

I have a discovery sport 2016 and today upon arrival at home my cooling fan ran for 2 hours until I finally unplugged the battery. Any ideas on what is wrong or how to fix?

First thing to check is the coolant level.

Others have reported (not common) that the fan module may need replacing.

Thanks. Coolant level is fine. Wondering if there was a relay that could be bad?

Fan module ~$170, takes 10-15 min to swap out.
