Default LR discovery sport overheating

Hi all,

I'm new here but really need your expert suggestion urgently as I'm stuck in a very bad situation with my LR discovery sport 2017 HSE. I was driving 70mph on a motorway yesterday when a message on dash came up of 'engine overheating' and the temperature guage changed to hot and I also felt reduced performance immediately. The overheating message was disappeared. I came off the motorway from the next exit in 2 mins and pulled over for 2 hours. Checked the coolant and it was full. I drove back home (30 mins journey) during which I started receiving Coolant low red triangle message. I parked the car as it was 12am. Tried to turned on the engine the next morning but the engine wouldn't start. It was just towed away to the workshop to resolve the issue. However, could you please suggest what may be the issue with the car?
