Wanted to see how much a Map update cost, and the only way to do so was go through the steps - so I installed the software, I plugged the SD Card in, followed the steps and got the price.

Exited the program and safely ejected the SD Card (am in IT) and now the car says "initializing" for about 25 minutes then tells me the SD Card is not detected.

Retry reboots the system and then same thing.... 25 min of animation and then the error.

Any tips?

 

I would try to back up the sd to an other sd card to see what happens. I have the original card that I update, copy to my computer and then copy the info to a much faster SD card. The map update program is erratic but try it again and do the upgrade $120 US.

First time I upgraded it did not seem to work and LAndRover told me to wait s few hours and retry and Nav booted up normally.

The car is new to me and Certified Pre Owned by JLR and is due to have a list of "We Owe" fixed this week, I made a list of items I found and printed it off and left that on the passenger seat addressed to the Service Manager, SatNav issue is on the list, if they dont/wont fix i'll try your method, and bite the bulllet re the update fee.

(car wasnt serviced, the airbox was full of dead leaves - choked up the air filter, cabin filter is filthy, the transmission oil is overdue and the sparkplugs have never been changed (and are dealer only))

 

My filter box collects leaves all the time but they drop to the bottom, I do not park near a tree. LOL. I have a 2016 and still have original transmission fluid and spark plugs

 

Yeah and thats 100% your choice, part of the we owe is a service, we viewed it after 5pm, took it home after service went home for the night, waiting for a loaner
