I'd tend to agree. That is why we went the route to preserve the Land Rover accessories. The alternator and A/C compressor are fairly solid units. The GM A/C is typically tucked back underneath on the passenger side, which I don't like. The Land Rover power steering pump can be problematic, but with the last build we went with what we had. This next one we're going to try the GM power steering pump with the Land Rover A/C and alternator, which also has the benefit of getting rid of the power steering fluid tank. New brackets are designed to be easier to install and pull the accessories in closer to the engine.

I’m also extremely interested. I don’t have a Disco 2 yet but I’m in the market and looking at trucks right now. This gives me even more confidence that I could spend under $3k on a decent truck and still be at at a reasonable investment when I have to replace the engine.

Also, forgot to mention, this new build will be using a drive-by-wire throttle instead of drive-by-cable. This is a little bit more complicated, but it will fix one thing that has always bothered me about the Discovery: the factory cruise control. Cruise control will be electric, which will get rid of the vacuum pump and the cables and be a much cleaner install.
Furthermore, I've also been working on making the temperature gauge in the instrument cluster work like it should. This way the needle would be in the red a much lower temperature -- maybe about 220 degrees, which would prevent many of the problems that come from relying on the factory gauge.

When is the store at the site going live for emissions versions? I need to put this on my Christmas list!!!

We still need some more time to work out the emissions-capable swaps. There's a bit more integration needed to make everything happy. The first five will be coming out soon. After we get some feedback from them, if there are no issues, the store will open.
