Well my kit is on the way. I'm currently sourcing components. I hope to get it all together when the kit arrives in a 5-6 weeks. I'm in Totem lake / Kirkland off I-405. Welcome to join in on the fun. I'll keep ya posted on things arriving. I'm still struggling to figure out what will and won't work for my LM4 candidate.

For those of you who have made the swap, did you also replace your radiator or just keep the original?

So far our conversions have been fine with the factory radiator, even in stop-go traffic with the A/C on in the Florida summer. As long as the factory one is in good condition, it should be okay for the LS.

In sourcing an engine, I'd prefer the aluminum blocked versions of the 5.3 (L33/LM4) but those come at a premium and are harder to source locally. Is the 80lb weight savings really important, or am I ok with just buying an iron blocked LM7?

Just curious , how much would my 03 4.6 be worth if I sold it after the swap, 67k miles no knocking , original head gasket, or price if I replaced the gasket before selling

I went with an iron block because like you said they are cheaper and easier to get. If you are worried about the weight just get hd springs up from.

Sit a fifth grader or a German Shepherd on the hood and see how it looks. The 80’s being just behind the front wheels and on the frame would be really evenly spread out, in my very unprofessional opinion.

I probably wouldn’t worry about it, but if you have steel bumper, winch, etc, that may be a different story.

I seem to find them for $750-1500. Yours has lows miles but the 03/04 blocks crack all the time, mine just cracked at 94k so that probably offsets the value of the low miles and averages it out.

So now that a few guys have done the conversion, what is the average cost to completion?
Motor, harness, your kit, other required parts off your list, exhaust etc.
