Howdy! New to the forum, I just bought a 2003 land Rover Free lander with a 2.5 Liter petrol engine. The person I bought it from said it was only driven by his 94-year-old grandfather, Parked six months and for some reason it wouldn’t start. That turned out to be a lie. As near as I can figure it jumped timing in the engine ate itself! I have pieces of valve down inside the cylinders. Can’t believe I fell for that! Anyway a 2.5 Land Rover engine is hard to come by for any reasonable price here. I’ve heard that perhaps the exact same engine was used in different makes of cars like Mazda, perhaps for a BMW or a Volvo? Does anyone know of a direct swap from another make of car besides Land Rover, or a easy swap to a different Land Rover engine? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!
