LR3 motor swap to LR4?
Has anyone done this or considered it?
I have a crusty LR3 that looks pretty nice above and is a bit frightening underneath. Engine is strong, like stronger than the normal.
Our local marketplace is offering nice LR4's with dead motors for $5K or so, used ebay junkyard do you feel lucky motors are $4K and remans are $12k.
Would a 4.4 bolt up to the 6 speed ZF on a LR4? Could one put the 5.0 engine controls, intake and throttle body/MAF, cam phasers, ignition coils, on the 4.4?
I know that not everyone bought a $500 4.4 in a handy carrying case like I did but there are a fair number of duff LR4's and rotten LR3's out there. And really, I do like that LR4 interior.
