2004 FREELANDER FRONT SEATS TO HIGH

The front seats are so high every body getting in bumps their head, any one els have this problem ?
Is there a way to lower the seats, I looked under them and don't see any adjustment. I can't beleive they built a high end vehicle like this with no up and down seat adjustment.
Besides this I really like this vehicle, runs great, 22 mpg, never had any problems.

Seating position was one of the main reasons I didn't buy an SE3, tho I really wanted one (I ended up with a D2).
You could fairly easily remove the seat frames, take them to a welder, and have him (or her?) fabricate something that should work, and would bring the seat down a few inches.
I don't think there's anything stock that does the job.
