Banging from rear

Default Banging from rear

I have a freelander tdi diesel and was towed off moterway by aa man who told me my rear diffs have prob gone ? Is this likely ? Any ideas? Loud banging noise while driving forward coming from rear ! Please help

probably needs the rear diff bushing, its probably damaged. usually the front one goes bad. its not too expensive or difficult to replace, you do have to lower the subframe a bit but just lower the bolts to give the dampner enough room to get out. if its the side ones that are broken then its a bit more. but just look at the bushing rubber part to see if its damaged.
