I recently boughta 2002 Freelander with 69,000 miles . Itseemed fine the motor was very quiet.Until the next morning when I went to get in it.When I crankedit chattered awful then after awhile itwent away
and totally smoothed upand it has done the same thing everyday since . I don't think its in the bottom end ,
because I ifigure it would do it all the time. I thought it might be the oil screen could be stopped up or a cheap oil filter.I just wanted tosee if anybody had ideas or suggestions`

 

Put new cam belts on your list of maintenance items if you haven't done it already.
