Unhappy Occasional charging light

Hi guys I'm new here as I have just bought a 2008 LR Freelander TD4 SE and I have an occasional battery charging warning which I find quite strange.

Start car and ignition/ Battery light goes out
low revs (1000/2000) light comes on
Driving car at 2000 revs light goes out????

For me an alternator begins to work and stays working or is dead and stays dead.
As I am new to these vehicles I thought that I would ask the tree of wisdom (the forum) for help

Many thanks in advance
Clive

All connections seem ok but also have another problem

Special programmes don't work and I get gearbox error reduced traction warning but car drives well. When I read with my obd no faults are given???
