Default Tow dolly

Greetings all,
I was wondering if it is possible to tow an 02 Freelander with a tow dolly if the drive shaft is disconnected from the rear hub/coupler? It will be a 700 mile trip to get my Freelander home for repairs. Will this hurt the componits inside the rear hub/coupler?
Thanks for any advice,
Navymcc

Please see attached pages covering the topic from the factory shop manual, part of the free RAVE download below. If you plan to DIY, or want to know more about what mechanic is doing to your truck, you want the RAVE.

The answer is yes, but there are several items that must be followed.
