Default 03 RR - steering column - vertical adjustment

Would appreciate a response from a LR tech if possible.

For the last two days, my steering column would only work telescopically - in and out. No vertical response. Did notice last evening in the garage when I worked the lever up and down for the vertical adjustment that the cabin lights dimmed every so slightly each time I moved the lever (up and down - no dimming when operating the lever for telescopic adjustment).

Today I started out with the same problem - while driving I tried the lever just for the heck of it and now it works fine.

Any idea what the possible source could have been - seems to work fine now - is there a contact somewhere that may need cleaned.

Responses appreciated.
