Default 2000 4.6 HSE alarm problem

I unlocked the rover, the alarm went off. I put the key in the ignition and the alarm is still going off. Then I try to start it and the 'engine disabled' message flashes. I tried disconnecting the battery and reconnecting with key in position II and using the '1515' EKA procedure with no luck (both suggestions from Rangerovers.net). I'm guessing the lock isn't recognizing the key as anytime I touch the car, the alarm goes off. The buttons haven't worked on the key fob for a couple weeks. Any suggestions? Wires I can cut? Any way to bypass the alarm? Thanks.

Scroll down till you see the part about unlocking it once then locking it 5 times ect.. That has worked on One of our Rovers when it did this...

Thanks, I tried that and it didn't work. I ended up getting it towed to my local Range Rover mechanic (love AAA plus). He said it's probably the chip in the lock not recognizing the key (and I only have one) so most likely new chip or lock, new key. I'll post when I know for sure.
