Default 2002 RR start problems

Just bought a 2002 P38 from an owner that ran out of money chasing an overheating problem. I received the car with the engine disassembled but with heads still on. After installing a few cooling system parts and refitting the engine, it will not start.

My experience level: Prior to me destroying my disco II with a 4.0 V8 a few months back, I tore down the engine, refurbished heads and replaced several other items and reassembled. It cranked right up on the first try.

All of this was done according to RAVE. What the heck am I missing?

As we know, the rave manual leaves a lot to practical knowledge.......any tips on where to start investigating?

So I'm trying to do this as efficiently as possibly. As we all know: air + fuel + spark = fire. Since the fuel line can be popped off easily at the injector rail with the quick disconnect I decided to start there....... When I crank the engine, no fuel comes out. Should it? I figured it should....not even a drop come out. Before I start chasing a red herring........I thought I would ask my fellow brothers.

? Help a brother out

I believe the quick disconnect closes when not installed. there should be a shrader valve on the line that can be used for pressure testing fuel pressure. also have you tried resetting the inersha switch that controls power to the fuel pump.

Thank you! That's the info I was lookin for. I have indeed reset the inertia switch but did not realize the fuel line sealed itself after disconnect so I will try the shraeder valve.

Thanks!
