2003 body control module
i have an 2003 range rover and i need to know what are the sypmtoms of the bcm gone bad.reason why is the horn, dome lights and headlight wipers do not work.Any knowledge out there?
Have you had the battery tested at Advance or AutoZone? If your BCM was failing you would probably have RKE problems and problems with just about anything else electrical.
Sounds like you have a short somewhere...but I would start with the battery..when the batteries start to fail, everythign else can start to act up.

remote keyless entry. I only suggest that it's not the BCM because everything inside the body links back to the computer and electrics via the BCM...usually that only gets replaced if everythign else gets ruled out, or if the gremlin is particularly difficult to narrow down.
yes actually my remote key doesnt work anymore.i can lock it manually and the remote works for the rear gate.do you think thats the problem now?also, are you familiar with the coolant temp sensor and what it really controls with the gauge inside the car?my gauge tends to move to the red back and forthand the car doesnt seem to be over heating.what do you suggest?
It could be the BCM then...also the BCM could be faulting out the temp gauge.
However, like I said in your other post, the coolant temperature sending unit is often a failure point on these vehicles. Not the ECT, which just tells the computer that the engine needs to heat up or not, but the part that actually sends the data to the BCM and the gauges.
Like on my Blazer...GMs fuel level sending units are failure prone due to condensation..so my gas gauge flucuates when I'm parked...from 1/4 to 3/4 tank quite quickly...I still have gas, the vehicle works fine, the gauge itself works fine, but the data going to the gauge is the problem.
You can replace the BCM if you want, but thats $$$....I would start with the battery and go from there.
