2003 HSE 4.4 electrical issue
My battery went dead due to a mystery battery drain...for some reason even with the engine off and the key out, the cabin ventilation continued to run...got used to jumping it off every morning and things would all go back to normal...until one day I jumped it off and now half my gauges don't work! Speedometer works, engine temp works, tach no and fuel no. Outside temp is in celcius, info center I think is in Duetsche? Navigation works, but other features like the clock and calendar will not allow me to set them...I guess my question is this: Is there some sort of master "reset" button for the onboard electronics or does it sound like I fried something with my 150A quick-charge? Thanks for anything!!!
Check your fuses first, both engine and interior. I would disconnect the battery and let it sit for awhile, disconnecting it essentially resets it. A complete reset has to be done by the dealer.
Thanks...I'll give that a try...lost my owners manual though...not even sure where all to look for fuses!
disconnecting battery effectively reset everything. Back to normal. Thanks for tip...one glitch...now the airbag light is on...don't know if it had anything to do with pulling fuses or maybe disconnecting this thing that goes to the battery that I think is part of the crash protection?? Any thoughts on resetting airbag light?
