Default 2006 rr s'charged power delivery problems

HELP! My 2006 rr s'charged has developed the following fault....when coasting in a high gear and re-applying accelerator there is a slight delay when nothing happens and then the power comes in with a surge (a bit like kick-down)...car used to be super amooth with barely noticable gear changes...now it is difficult to accererate away smoothly and gear changes are noticably jerkier. Also happens at around 60mph...when re-applying power (but short of kick-down) car sometimes feels as if fuel has been shut off and then power comes in with a noticeable "bang". Using kick-down masks the problem because engine is forced to change down. Had a new fuel raiol sensor fitted a few weeks ago which seemed to cure problem but since running out of fuel (faulty range indicator and fuel tank gauge) problem seems to have re-appeared. Could running out of fuel cause this problem? Dealer insists there is nothing wrong with vehicle but definately does not "glide" like it used to. Usimng manual shifting sorts problem because car is in correct gear and revs are higher...seems to only happen at low revs in high gear. (or when engine is under more load?)

theres a bulletin for something similar, it involves a new software tune to the engine and transmission. however if it seemed like the fuel rail press sensor took car of it for a while id say theres something going on with the engine... doing that sensor, the fuel adaptions would be reset, and after driving for a while they would go back to where they were before the replacement. do you know if there were any other fault codes aside from the 2 about fuel pressure too high and too low? how many miles has it been since the sensor was done?
