You're asking a couple questions as one - and improbable to give a definitive answer. What's the mileage? Condition? What mechanicals have
been replaced already? A 13 year Rover as a daily driver (how much mileage?) is always a risk factor - unless you don't need to drive it every day
(meaning you buy a "backup" car to use when its out of commission )nd have good cash reserves to keep it running....not being sarcastic, just realistic. I'm the consummate glutton for punishment as we've had these since 87...just know what you're buying and realize there's downside to it.

i have a few back-up options, there are some for $4,000 with 60k miles in decent clean condition. replacements arent listed, i am aware of these costs. looking for a rough yearly running cost. i am also considering a back-route with a later p38 99-02 high mileage range for around $5,000 over 100,000 miles. thx in advance.

One thing to remember is that the newer a Rover the more expensive the parts seem to be. All vehicles cost money to run during the year. Aside from something unforseen breaking a RRC will not cost anymore than any other vehicle. Oil changes, gas, and any preventive maintance you wish to do. However, I would suggest that you go through this forum and others like it and get an example of the problems you may run into around the 60 or 70000 mile mark. I have about 135000 on mine and if it wasn't for the time I went swimming with it I would have only been changing the oil. No lie that some of the parts are very expensive with these trucks, but I love mine. Parts sometimes go bad, its a guess as to what do when. If you are worried about these things, think about the parts that you believe you might need to change and look up the prices, if you good with the prices then you will be set. One more thing, its better if you and a buddy can do all the work, most people seem to get lost when working on these.
