Default Air coming in Steering Column

ON my 2000 Range Rover 4.6, I frequently feel cold air coming in all around the steering column. The situation is almost unnoticeable during around town driving, but on the highway it is pretty unbearable. My handsare absolutely freezing. What could be causing this?

The steering columns are not air tight. Might start by checking the seal the steering column goes thru in the fire wall for air leaks.

Gloves work too, andare wayyy cheaper than what it might cost to open the hood.
