Default Steering Column Issues

My 2003 RR HSE has had multiple issues withthe steering column assembly. At 20,000 miles I replaced the telescopic motor under warranty. Now, at only 37,000 miles the whole assembly needs replaced, due to the whole column just flops around. Dealer has quoted a repair in excess of $1,000.00 with labor. Since this has been a recall item with a history of problems, curious to hear what others have experienced.

Regards,

Bangers and Mash

Default RE: Steering Column Issues

this is a common problem with the '03 on up,have the the dealer check to see if it had the bo28 recall done, thats the only recall for the column,it should of been done if you recently had a service...otherwise it needs a column, there is no way to fix it,because its all cast aluminum and the area where it rides on the linkage for the tilt motor breaks
