Default airbag fault

I have a 1999 range rover, and the air bag fault is displayed on the message center. My horn, and stereo control buttons are working fine. Any suggestions of what happened.

Did you check all your fuses?

The airbag fault is very common... check under your driver's seat to make sure you don't have a loose connection. This is the number own cause of the message. Seems it comes loose with the bumps and such the vehicle endures.

I agree. Turn the ignition off, disconnect the battery negative lead, andleave it forabout ten minutes. Locate the yellow 2-wire connector under each front seat. Disconnect them and put a little di-electric grease in the connector and reconnect the connectors and then reconnect the battery. The faults should be cleared.

Val,
I had the same problem and did excatly what ldivinesuggested. The Airbag Fault went away. I happend again after I had the truck vaccumed, followed the suggestion and it went away. I'm tempted to just put some black tape around those wires...LOL

Go for it! Electrical tape works well and you can always remove it later
