a/c not engaging

Default replaced control unit

changed out unit and nuthin the one i got from flee bay part of the display didnt work so? who knows if it was good so anyway all the other functions seemed to work tho. could it be possibly be something else? or another bad unit i really think its something eles i repaired the broken wire that was cut too and nuthing i'm lost i'm ready to run a switch but i don't want the compressor running constantly its not sapose to right? and plus the condenser fans need to be wired to run at they highest speed setting other wise the rover overheats while at a idle... but hey its a back up plan(help)

Have you tried the evaporator temp sensor? If you do wire in a switch, the evaporator will freeze up at highway speeds on long trips and you will have to manually turn off the compressor with the switch and then turn it back on after it thaws. Kind of a Pita. I went through this on mine, and the problem was that some previous owner had removed the evaporator temp sensor. It only takes a few minutes to pull the sensor out. I believe you can jump over the sensor switch, but you may want to check the manual to be sure of that. BTW, what part of the new control unit doesn't work?
