Default Hello and a quick question

Hello
I recently acquired a 2012 RR Sport and so far I am loving it. However I noticed something this evening That bothered me. To save gas, I had turned off the ignition but had the cd player running. In about 12 mins, the system warns me that I need to fire up the engine displaying a low battery sign. It says that I have 3 mins to do so before the media system will shut off.

Is this normal ? Can someone check this for me . I would Assume it should at least play music etc for about 20 to 30 mins before it shuts it down

Any help would be appreciated before I contact the dealer.

Did not see reference to it in a quick scan of the owner's manual, but it sounds like a Rover thing - it wants to protect you from discharging the battery too far. Not very friendly for baseball season.

you have to remember that when the key is on and the engine not running lots of electrical systems are working,
the drain on the battery is substantial,
so start the engine and let the alternator assist in keeping the battery from going dead.
This is normal though not very user friendly.
It might not be a bad idea to charge the battery with a 6 amp charger from time to time as well
