Default help with new p38!!!

I recently purchased a 99 P38. It has the safari 5000 light kit on it. I can't figure out how to turn them on? I pressed the fog light switch but it only turned on the fog lamps on the bumper. Is there a procedure to turn them on? Maybe a bulb or fuse?

Also how much should it cost to get the plugs and wires replaced? I was quoted like $250 at a shop. Is that right?

Default p38 issues

Hi,

i dont know too much about the safari lights, but if it had been previously installed by someone or another shop i would find out if they had put the rocker switches in somewhere or used the existing fog lamp switch.

The safari lights aren't technically fog lights... since you mentioned both i'm not sure which you got working. But the safari ones are supposed to turn on with the high beams on and one of buttons (think it's the second one?... i can check later if need be) next to the light **** depressed.

$250 is about right. A bit high but not unreasonably so and probably better then you'll be quoted at many other places.

Regards

Are you comfortable replacing the plugs and wires yourself? They are fairly easy to do. Just take one off at a time, measure it to the new one and replace the plug and wire at the same time. you can shave about $100 off that total and it would only take about 30 minutes maybe an hour.
