Default I miss it so badly....

My rover has been grounded due to a failed abs pump for a few weeks now. While doing the pump I re-did the headliner and started to restore the grill guard a bit (BTW, The headliner was very frustrating (at least for me it was). During this I attempted a rebuild on the pump, the rebuild worked and the electric engine for the pump is functioning again. However, I some how managed to lose one of the impeller pistons . So I ended up having to buy a pump on fleabay and bought one that was "rebuilt" REBUILT MY A$$. It does pump fluid but it won't build pressure. The abs, trac, and brake lights flicker every time i push the brake and the pump runs for 1/2 a second. I'm thinking its just the accumulator, but we'll see tomorrow.

I wanted to drive it very badly, so I decided to take a spin around the neighborhood. I forgot how smooth it really is and I really miss it. Hopefully I'll get this taken care of shortly, I really want to get it back on the road again.

Sounds like a bad accumulator may have caused the pump to fail. I think you have just motivated me to replace my accumulator which has been bad for some time now. Miami Rovers has one for $200.00. That's the best price I have found. It looks like they are cheaper in England, but I think the shipping would be really high. Good luck.

It is the accumulator. I put the one from the old pump in it and it was exhibiting the same symptoms that the old pump was exhibiting... The old pump was good.... DAMN! I feel like an idiot right now. I should have just bought a new accumulator.

I know what you mean about missing the truck. I lent mine to my brother in law for about a month and I missed driving it. To make it worse his new wife hit another car with it a week before I got it back.

OUCH!

It was funny, when I took it for a spin. It only took one crank and it started. It was just as eager to go for a drive as I was .

My work had given me a company car now and so I do not drive the Rover as much as I would like, it is always eager as well and everytime I get behind the wheel I think of ways I can get rid of the company car and still drive it. Unfortunately I put about 30-35K miles on a year so I guess keeping them off the Rover is good.
