navagation trouble

Default navagation trouble

Hi, I installed factory navagation system in my 1999 rover. The parts came off 2001 rover. I purchased the retro fit harness into the becm. it lights up and displays and all but when I checked the diagnostic setting it read satilite error do i need a special gps antena or do i have to buy an upgrade dvd.I live in chicago, the gps reads new york and I can't change the settings. please help thank you.

You will need the GPS antenna connected to the back of the unit for sure. No antenna = no GPS signal BMW 7 Series 1995-2001 E38 Brand new BMW E38 Navigation GPS Antenna bracket and cable was the only one I could find
