Newbie Question
Hi,
I am looking to purchase a 2008 RRS SC with 40K miles. It seems in good shape, one owner, clean car fax, dealer maintained, etc. Can someone be so kind as to tell me what questions I should be a asking the authorized dealer? I am trying to find any hidden service / repair / maintenance issues.
Thanks very much in advance.

In the US, because of privacy laws that stemmed from 9/11 (so I've been told more than once) dealers are not allowed to divulge any maintenance, repairs or issues that might be in the dealership and national databases. But since they can access this information, maybe the dealer can certify that the truck is up to date with all of the necessary scheduled maintenance.
That said I can only suggest you digest every forum post about the car you are looking at. Edmunds dot com and msn cars both go into fair detail over the good and bad and mention common squawks for each model year. Somewhere there is also a calculator for annual cost of ownership. In short look at the maintenance schedule for the vehicle and make sure all of the items called out have been serviced or replaced.

New purchase
Experience learned is better than experience taught.
That being said, I would never purchase without a full vehicle inspection BY A LAND ROVER DEALER.
They will save you at least the amount of their inspection and MUCH more. Any catch up maint. and/or repairs can be adjusted in your purchase price, or do not buy.
