Oil Housing Rubber Mounts & Wind Noise
I am so happy to find this site. I am a newbie and I just purchased a 2003 Range Rover.
I am having battery issues already. I plan on going to a dealer to day and purchasing one.
Upon looking in the engine over and over because the battery is going, I noticed the house where the oil filter goes has a tie strap to keep it in place. Looks like the rubber mounts are broken.
The dealer told me that was common. I wanted to pose this question to this knowledgeable group. How common is it?
Also my truck has the brush guard on the front. When I get up to over 50mph or so i hear something that sounds like really bad wind noise. Any ideas? I when i coast at high speeds i still hear it till I slow down to under 40 or so. Engine sounds good. Strong no pings or hesitation.
Just thought someone here might have experienced the noise before.
ALso, is there any common retailer that carries the batter for the 2003 RR. I stopped by PepBoys and auto zone and they don carrry it. Dealer wants $150 and $50 to install it.
NUTS!

i think the part number is LYE100030L
if the noise seems to coming from the lower front window area and
sounds like buzzing bees its the lower cowl moulding, just use some
adheasive to glue it to the lower windshield see TIB 76/10/03/nas repair two
out...

DO NOT buy a battery from the dealer, it is a huge mistake.
