Default oxygen sensor removal problem-03 RR

Second post - hoping for some advice.

I've been trying, unsuccessfully to remove an 0xygen sensor. Its frozen. I tried heating up the flange with two propane torches - penetrating fluid - all to no avail.

At this point, I've rounded the sensors sides sufficiently so that I can't even use the oxy sensor socket anymore. A pipe wrench seems to be the only option - and with the sensor above the pipe, access is pretty poor.

Looks like I'm going to need to drop the pipe, eh? Anyone have any similar problems?

Roverguy 7: Sensor 2, Bank 2 (post cat driver side). Vehicle has about 80K. Replaced the other post cat sensor about 9 months ago. That one came out fine.

Any advice?

Thx
Bob

Default success

For anyone who's interested or happens onto this thread - the solution was to drop the pipe, drill out the old sensor - chase the sensor receiver threads (the old sensor was cross threaded when installed) - and re-install.
