Mine were stiff when I first got it. I took off the door panels and spayed the assemblies with a dry teflon lube. It was 50% better right away and continued to improve with use. Now they don't stick at all.

I searched for the dry teflon lube and asked the hardware staff and they did not have any but sold me on some spray called "Blaster" www.blasterproducts.com "GDL Garage Door Lube" its mainly used for garage door lubrication, but can be used for overhead doors, sliding cables, sliding glass doors, cables, springs, bearings, hinges, door tracks, rollers, worm gears?, bushings, window tracks and chains. Safe on plastics (our door handles) metals, Delrin?,PTFE, wood, etc.
What do you all think? I won't try it until I get the green light from you guys.
I wish he just had dry teflon lube like Krazzz suggested. Ugh!
Life is full of road blocks and delays!

If it says that it is safe for all materials you are probably fine to use it. Just make sure that it doesn't stain the plastic. The reason I use dry lube is that it doesn't gum up or collect dirt and grime.

The product I bought does say its safe on plastic and does not gum up or accumulate dust or dirt, but I will cover the handle just in case only exposing the area in between where the friction takes place. I will let all the views know what my end results are.
Thanks for all the comments!

GDL is a decent substitute - you should be fine with that, I don't think there is acetone in that version.

For future use - I've used the ones below for all kinds of stuff, they come in handy:
