Default P38 To buy or not to buy

I've owned a 95 RRC and a 99 Disco. I have been looking for another classic, but there are a couple 96 and 99s by me. Should stick with the simpler classics or what is the reliability of the p38s? Any years better than others? Anything to look for besides the pesky air suspension?

Thanks for the advice.

I would look for a later model, better axles and a lot of the kinks worked out. You will have problems with blend motors on the HVAC, the door locking and unlocking as you drive down the road. Reported electrical problems.
I picked up a 99 6 months ago 80k mile 1 owner for under $4k, everything still works including the air suspension (which I would never remove). so far it has cost me a couple u-joints (no cardone joint), plugs and wires.
6-months into my 2000 80k disco I had re-gasketed the whole motor, timing chain, drive shaft and a ton of other stuff.
So Far the P-38 has been a bargain compared to the Disco, but that is just my experience.
