Pothole - Thank goodness for snow tires
I was driving home the other night after it had snowed really hard. The snow was pretty much cleared off of the roads but there was a lot of slush and it was pretty hard to see the road.
1/2 mile ahead of me I saw someone off to the side of the road and immediately thought accident. Next thing you know I slammed into probably the deepest pothole I ever encountered. I kept going and found out that the person off to the side of the road was fixing a flat. And then around the bend there were six other cars off to the side of the road doing the same thing. As I continued home I kept seeing people off to the side. I have never seen anything like it.
Fortunately I had my winter tires on 19's and not my summer tires on 20's or I would have been another casualty of the hole.

RE: Pothole - Thank goodness for snow tires
The winter tires make a HUGE difference. Last year I didn't have them on the Rover but did on my LS and whenever it snowed I chose the RWD LS instead of the AWD Rover simply because it had snow tires. My big concern isn't getting going but staying on the road especially around turns and down hills.
I have them on all of my cars now and it makes me feel so much safer.
