Default Power Mirror Dip

The Power Mirror Dip on my '97 RR 4.0 has lost its' marbles. When I select reverse, the mirrors dip as they should. When I select another gear (usually D or P), the mirrors attempt to return to their proper setting, but never seem to quite make it there. It's prominent more so on the drivers side than the passengers. I know I can turn the feature off, but I kind of like it; keeps me from running over two potted trees at the top of my driveway. Any ideas on how to fix this?

Thanks,
Brett

I think what you need to do is position the mirrors correctly, then save the setting, assuming you have seat/mirror/climate memory etc. I think what's happening is that they're currently just returning to a position you haven't selected. This can happen if some one manually tweaks them... they're electronically going to the setting, but are physically out of synch. This happened to my wife's car. Good luck.

I'm going to need some KY Lube myself if this car doesn't stop bending me over.

Mine are having the same problem, it is due to dirt, wear, etc. My solution was to just turn off the reverse dip function ( key on, engine off, then hold down the memoy set button for five secs with the shifter in R position)
