Red face so many wires any help ?

a few months ago when the tailgate of my 95 range rover classic was opened and closed something went haywire. the dome lights would come on and off at will, the alarm went nuts so i took the fuse out, the radio no longer works and i have to unhook the battery everytime it is parted or it will draw power. also the taillight fillament keeps blowing i have looked at most of the wires i can see in the back end, but they don't look broken and all the fuses look fine. I am at a loss, except for possibly paying a garage several hundred chasing a bad wire which i cannot afford. I love my range rover and want to keep it running good, so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated thank you

Have you looked at your fuse boxes to see if any have been blown or if the boxes are corroded? The battery and or alternator may be going out too so have them checked out.
