Default Steering Rumble!!!

When I am making K-turns or backing out of a parking space i am getting a rumble sound for about 5 seconds until the turn is completed.

Steering retracts back and frontwards with some squeak but hardly noticeable. No faults according to the dealer. They claim i need a new steering column.

Please help!!

Sound unusual, is it causing other steering issues? What is their prognosis is it safe to drive like that?

No issues while driving. I think it could be related to the power steering lines and or pump.

Mine did that about a year ago. Got the power steering system flushed and it stopped. I beleive there is either too much or not enough power steering fuild in the system. i would check that first

check the ps fluid. if not full add to fill mark, there are banjo bolts located on the neck of the power steering rack that have a tendency to leak, check the torque i believe it is an 18 or 21 mm bolt. you will have to remove at least the drivers side splash guard to gain access. you will see what i am talking about. it is not a reall common issue to flush and go away, you may need to purge the line yourself. The easiest way to do it is to turn the steering wheel from left to right (lock to lock and hold for 2 seconds) in a slow motion like you are trying to avoid a police bike that is parked behind you. from left to right. then pop the hood and check the ps fluid. if you notice bubbles in your system you have air. repeat the process untill bubbles are gone.

I think the flush was around 120.
