Default Tranny problem

I've got a 1993 RRC I just swapped motors I took out a 4.2L and installed another 4.2L from a 1993. My transmission worked fine before the swap, now it does nothing at all. The shifter on the tranny moves. I checked the fluid which there was way to much, I think do the torque converter probably being full on the new "used" motor I drained the oil till it was at a normal level on the dip stick. The new motor I got had the tranny and transfer case go out do to being towed improper, could that have something to do with the torque cover or something, or is there a vacuum line, or something I forgot to hookup during the install? Thanks

You may have installed a damaged convertor.

I am willing to bet you just ruined your transmission. If the torque convertor is not set properly it will damage the forward pump and in the input ring and the rover will not go anywhere. Since Torque convertors are very bullet proof in my opinion I would not think it is suspect. I would pull the tranny and see what it looks like at the back of the shaft where the TC will slide in. If there was any friction on the TC when you attached it to the flex plate then it was not set right. Many guys will loosen the bolts of the tranny and engine block to move the TC around to tighten it up, then tighten the rest of the bolts tight. That is where the damage will occur, once it starts rotating there is no real way to save it.

Let us know what you find out.

I hope you installed the torque converter on the transmission first if not you damaged the transmission pump, that will cause your problem
